Official Game Rules

PBL 3 is the official 3-on-3 half-court basketball league under the Peoria Basketball League (PBL). The league focuses on fast-paced competition, skill, and teamwork.



Team Structure

  • 3 players on the court

  • Maximum 4 players per team

  • Minimum 2 players required to start a game

Teams may have 1 substitute.



Game Length

  • 20-minute running clock

  • First team to 21 points wins

If neither team reaches 21:

  • The team with the highest score when time expires wins

Overtime

  • Sudden Death



Scoring System

  • Inside the arc = 1 point

  • Behind the arc = 2 points

  • Free throw = 1 point



Possession Rules

After a made basket:

  • Defense receives the ball

  • Ball must be cleared past the 3-point line before attacking

After a steal or rebound:

  • The ball must clear past the arc before a team can score

  • 1 Timeout per game




Fouls

  • 6 team fouls = bonus

  • Bonus = 1 free throw + possession

Technical foul:

  • 1 point + possession



Substitutions

  • Substitutions allowed during dead ball situations
