🏀 Peoria Basketball League (PBL) Official RULE BOOK

Game Play:

  • Two 24-minute halves with a 2-minute halftime.

  • Clock stops the final minute of each half.

  • Overtime: 2 minutes, clock stops last minute only.

Team & Players:

  • 5 players on the court per team.

  • Minimum 4 players required to start a game.

  • Each player must be registered and have paid their fee's before playing.

Fouls:

  • 6 personal fouls = disqualification.

  • 2 technical fouls = ejection from that game.

  • Each technical foul = $20 tech fee to be paid before the next game.

  • 5 technical fouls in a season = 2-game suspension.

  • 7 technical fouls in a season = permanent removal from the league with no refund.


Forfeits:  If a forfeit occurs due to not having enough players, GM's must pay $50 before the team can resume play.  

  • If a team forfeits two games in a row team will be disqualified from the league. 
  • Players are only allowed to play on one team.
  • If a player is caught playing on another team without proper trade confirmation they will be suspended for 1 game and in order to return they must pay the $20 tech fee.


Free Throws & Bonus:

  • 2 free throws awarded after 7 team fouls per half.

Timeouts:

  • 2 timeouts per half (no carryover).

Game Conduct:

  • Respect referees, players, and staff.

  • Fighting, verbal abuse, or intentional harm = suspension or expulsion.

  • No outside food, alcohol,, drugs or illegal substances allowed on premises.

Volunteering Requirement:

  • Each player and GM must volunteer at least 3 games per season. SIGN UP 

Bonuses & Awards:

  • MVP: $800 plus MVP belt

  • GM: $500 plus part of the revenue pot  to winning GM

  • Defensive Player of the year: $500

  • Stat Leaders (Points, Rebounds, Assists, Steals, Blocks): $400 + Half of stats

  • Championship Team: Revenue Pot

  • Draft: Held at Crusens on War Drive

  • *************In order to be eligible for any prizes you must participate in at least 15 regular season games*************

Player Trades:

  • Trade Transactions: Teams are allowed to trade players throughout the season before the trade deadline on February 7, 2027
  • Trade Fee: Each player trade transaction incurs a $20 fee, split equally: $10 paid by the GM and $10 paid by the player being traded.  Fee must be paid before trade goes into effect 
  • Players may sign up to enter the player portal allowing all GM's an opportunity to sign them.
